Role purpose:
• To provide input to the development of marketing plan that delivers against our retail goals.
• To deliver the customer plan ensuring legal and brand guidelines are adhered to.
Job Specification:
• To provide input into the annual marketing plan & to plan and deliver period by period retail marketing plan showing all activity by:
Understanding the business goals
Identifying business priorities for year
Recommending the plan to meet goals
Challenging senior managers to deliver compelling offer
Achieving buy-in to plan from Retailers and internal departments
Developing template and process by which plan is developed and communicated and communicate agreed plan
Delivering each campaign to time and budget
• To develop and implement Sales Plan process by:
Managing meeting schedule and process for Sales Planning and pre-sell processes
Engaging key stakeholders, focus on actionable commmercial priorities and communicate to relevant parties
Incorporating Seasonal Event range, sales and margin reporting into key communications
Delivering of process and campaign programme
Documenting agreed activities within annual plan; management of seasonal calendar (including Category Initiatives)
• Develop promotional build governance and process by:
Implementing, monitoring and updating governance as required
Attending promotional build meetings and create build output documentation
Distributing builds to Commercial and Management team forums within agreed timelines
Actioning feedback and obtain cross functional sign off to deadlines
Promotional build signed off to agreed deadlines and adheres to agreed governance
Financial reporting of results via Trading Input and Finance completed and reported.
• To support the team and individuals to improve performance and meet business objectives.
• To deliver agreed creative campaigns adhering to the overall advertising and brand strategy by:
Liaison with the creative agency to ensure creative treatment complies with overall policy, working to defined timescales and launching campaigns on time with 100% accuracy.
Working with media planners and buyers to set appropriate media plans and to ensure correct level of media selection by region.
• Evolve consistent marketing communications and guidelines, ensuring compliance to the umbrella strategy & to deliver systems and processes which ensure efficient delivery of communications plan by:
Producing templates and guideline copy, creating manual and updating amended pages.
Revisiting brand communication guidelines annually, updating where necessary.
Overseeing communication requests and liaison between creative and print agencies, studio and internal departments.
Identifying most appropriate procedures for team and workloads.
Identifying any systems requirements.
Monitoring effectiveness of processes and systems amending where required.
Candidate Requirements:
• Previous head office experience essential
• Considerable experience within the Food Retail sector
• Experience of promotional planning
• Ability to challenge at levels
• Ability to evaluate successful campaigns
• Ability to work cross functionally as part of a team
• Proven track record in managing marketing communication delivery and measurement of effectiveness
Food retail experience is essential.
